RIVER TROUT FISHING (Primitive Catch & Cook)

My pals and doing a primitive fishing while camping on a clear river that has actually been equipped with rainbow . Fishing for trout we are using light spinning tackle and little lures and wading out into the river. Once we have our limitation of trout, it's time to head back to camp and clean these trout for a scrumptious trout dinner, cooked right on an open camp fire.

  1. Love it guys, it’s hard in the south right now with all this freaking rain but you seem to always keep it going for us the fans.

  2. Let me know if ya’ll want to see more camp & fish vids. This was a lot of fun : )

    1. This is very similar to my own style of fishing ! Never heard of yampa river rods but I might need to grab one ! The river I fish for trout turns into a trophy salmon fishery in the fall ! I am about 3 hours south of Lake Ontario ! Good luck man and stay safe ! Love the videos brother đŸ˜ŽđŸ€ŸđŸ»

    2. In MN here we have to deal with the DNR declaring so many of the streams and rivers catch and release. It takes the fun out of it for someone who as a kid grew up catching and cooking either camping or at home. Streams that are near to me, and there are so many, are full of native Rainbows, Brooks, and Browns. Lake trout are close by in some small spring fed lakes also. They do stock a lot of places with Rainbows in some areas. You can tell by the color of the meat if they are stocked or native. Pink meat is a usually native, white meat is generally stocked. If you feel like a swim in a trout stream be prepared to wait for your balls to drop a few days later as the water doesn’t rise much past 50 degrees. But nothing better or more refreshing in the summer heat and humidity we get up here than a good swim in there.

    3. Hey LFG, I’ve been watching for years, I’m a big fan. My dad taught me how to clean trout and if you cut the belly along with under the jaw where the tongue is you can grab the tongue and the gills and pull it all out guts and all. Try that out next time your trout fishing

  3. Second comment from me, I apologize. This is absolutely one of the best videos that you have done in a long time. Probably because it brings up so many memories of me growing up. Great job my brother.

  4. Can’t wait to get to trout fishing! Currently recovering from surgery, so I’m enjoying your outdoor videos!

  5. I love trout fishing. They’re skittish and they fight like a big’ol smallmouth but in rough water that really tests your line and patience. And netting them ain’t no walk in the park either!

    Love it.

P.S- You should try to get sponsored by Mora Knives. I seen it.

  6. I fish this river often! I drive 3 hrs to make it happen but the scenery and the quality time is so worth it! Very cool to see my one of my favs fish it too! Caught my PB rainbow at the Blue 3 weeks ago 4 lbs 2 oz 22.5” long.

  7. You make fishing look soo easy but I know it is your skill. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.
